SCRITCH* — the sound of chalk
“The desire to create a range of great organic white wines does not come alone, nor without reflection.
To dedicate my expertise and passion for wine to a modern vinification approach, designed for sharing.
SCRITCH* — the sound of chalk — expresses the diversity of terroirs and the particular care required to craft surprising wines.” – Cyprien
Inspired by the authenticity of Burgundian terroirs and a modern approach to Burgundy wines, the Scritch family is a selection of great organic whites embodying a bold renewal of Burgundy: Bourgogne Chardonnay, Bourgogne Aligoté, Chablis, Hautes-Côtes de Beaune, Mâcon — as many distinctive expressions as there are pleasures.
This project is built on trusted partnerships with winegrowers chosen for their meticulous work, artisanal philosophy, and commitment to living soils. Sourcing is precise and intentional, and vinifications take place in Morey-Saint-Denis.
Why SCRITCH, the sound of chalk?
For generations, in the family’s historic cellars, teams have written wine details on barrels and slates using chalk. It is to the sound of chalk that the estate’s wines come to life.
“One day, during vinifications, my children drew a magnificent fresco on our wooden vats. Silent and focused, all I could hear was the sound of their chalk.”
As a tribute to their innocence and to ancestral winemaking practices, this range was named ‘the sound of chalk.’ SCRITCH* is a contemporary, organic white wine range — a true Burgundian revival meant to be shared.
